What do we do at Hogar CREA?
HOGAR CREA translates to a Spanish phrase that means, 'Create Home'. We are a non-profit organization that is a Community for the Re-Education of Addicts. It is always our goal to help those who struggle with alcohol and drug addiction to get back their lives, as well as their place in society, the community and in their families.

At CREA we have developed a program that allows the resident to live in a community home where they will be able to re-learn how to make the right decisions and re-establish a successful life.

Testimonials
  • This program must be very successful. The guys in the program stop at my shop every week to sell flan, cheese cake and pastries. The men are always very humble and respectful. They are willing to answer any questions and are very honest. I think it is great that these guys are out there earning money to help pay for their housing while in the rehab program. I just wish the flan wasn’t so damn good because I need help with my willpower skills.

  • This is a caring helpful group of people who strive to change the way an addict looks at life. I would recommend Crea to anyone who has a real interest in changing there lifestyle. The staff there understands how an addicts mind works and they will work with everyone on an individual basis to create a proper work plan to help individuals move forward back into the community as respectful members of society!!!

About Hogar CREA

C.R.E.A. stands for community for the re-education and growth of character and is a spanish abbreviation. It is backed by the principle of mutual support, responsibility, and self-effort of both the individual and the community.

As a non-profit organization, we at Hogar Crea have been committed to preventing and recovery from alcohol and substance abuse for over half a century. Our organization was founded in 1968 in saint just ward in Puerto Rico.

Currently, we are being represented by 104 facilities in Puerto Rico, the us, South America, and Central America. We provide alcohol and drug addiction recovery services to people of all genders, including adults and adolescents, in a residential setting.

Our office bearers are appointed based on the principle that our ex-residents, who have completed the program at our facilities, will have the first-hand experience of our program. Therefore, the directorship in the homes lies with treating individuals who are an example of how effective our program is. They can build stronger relationships with our new residents during the program.

Our directors and other staff members get assistance in their missions from professionals and community leaders that may include: social workers, psychologists, and other health care professionals, who provide direct services to the residents and/or consulting professional services.

All our residents get the opportunity to live in an environment that is reminiscent of a genuine home environment. All the emotional, physical, moral, and spiritual elements help in building a better and stronger character.

The residents are required to attend to a wide range of well-planned, routine duties. This helps in developing a sense of both individual and collective responsibility. The things they do in the home as part of their routine are well-planned and are part of their re-development process.
